With the increase of bikes built with wider range cassettes, converting to single front ring is becoming popular, as the combination can provide enough gears for long distance, hill climbs, off-road, etc.
After converting Double to Single setup and removing FD, STI lever will be floppy due to no tension from the cable without it connected to FD. To avoid that, install “STI STOPPER” on the cable to hold the lever in the proper place.
*When great impact is applied to the lever due to a fall or crash, STOPPER will slide down along the cable (and release cable tension), so the lever won’t get damaged.
